Ólafur Guðlaugsson

I graduated from the University of Iceland medical school in 1992. Did my training in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin hospital and clinics, and subsequently went to the University of Iowa hospital and clinics for my infectious disease training. While in the USA I finished an MPH degree from the University of Iowa. As of 2002 I have been an attending physician with a joint position in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Landspitali university hospital in Iceland. Since 2003 have been the director for infection control at the same institution. My research interests have been disease epidemiology, mainly focusing on resistant organisms and nosocomial infections
