Ville Peltola works as the Chief Physician and Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the Turku University Hospital and University of Turku, Turku, Finland. He completed his M.D. degree in 1992, Ph.D. in 1996, and specialization in pediatrics in 2001, all from the University of Turku. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, in 2002-2004, and specialized in pediatric infectious diseases in Turku in 2006. His research focuses on respiratory tract infections, viral-bacterial interaction, and diagnostics of infectious diseases in children.
